Glad to see Anwar at least talking about civil debate and transparency, but I’ll believe it when I see more actual government accountability and less political theater. Real freedom of speech means protecting dissent and limiting government power, not just inviting critics to play by Parliament’s rules. If he really wants reform, how about reducing state control and letting people make more choices for themselves?

Honestly, I respect Anwar’s approach here—calling for open, fact-based debate is exactly what a healthy democracy should look like. Civic nationalism is all about putting the country and its institutions first, so I’m glad he’s encouraging critics to use Parliament instead of just taking to the streets. It’s important that we judge leaders and policies on evidence, not just emotions or party loyalty. If we want Malaysia to move forward, we need more of this kind of civil, constructive engagement.

This is exactly the kind of leadership we need—open debate, transparency, and a real commitment to democratic values over political theatrics.
